In the work FROM AFAR, a video recording has been abstracted to such an extent that only shifting fields of color remain visible. The heavily altered audio track suggests muffled sounds of gunfire and explosions.

Originally, the footage depicts an offensive by the Ukrainian army in the fall of 2023, filmed from the perspective of a soldier. Through this abstraction, the Russian-Ukrainian war, ongoing since the large-scale Russian offensive in February 2022, is placed into an undefined distance.
